Dear Network Members, Please allow us to get back in touch with a Horizon Europe call for proposals. We are also taking this opportunity to pilot a more structured way of sharing these opportunities with you.
What?
Horizon Europe call on Affordable Housing District Demonstrators, which focuses on funding projects demonstrating innovation in renovation or construction of social housing districts. The objective is to "obtain a set of lighthouse affordable housing districts that each have followed a different approach, focussing on one or a combination of different innovative strands". CLTs are specifically mentioned in the call text as an innovative model.
When?
The call is open until 20 April 2023.
Who?
We would be looking into applying to this call as a consortium of democratically-governed housing organizations (i.e. beyond CLTs, also with coops) with projects demonstrating
synergy between democratically-governed housing models and energy communities/cooperatives, potentially with a focus on renovation. There would ideally be 3 to 4 demonstrators across different geographic areas. SOSCH and CLTB have already expressed interest.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for CLT projects that are ‘ready to go’ (i.e. at a minimum having obtained planning permission), at a ‘district’ level (but the definition is fairly broad), and the projects submitted should be going the ‘extra mile’, i.e. the funding should not cover what is already planned. UK-based partners are eligible for funding.
What’s in it for me?
Horizon Europe’s funding rate is 100% for non-profits. This funding could cover staff costs and possibly investments. The typical duration of the project is 3-4 years.
