What is your story?

We’d love to hear more about you. What is your personal quest?

I’d find interesting to share my gustavosegovia.eth and allow you to check and understand from there my (public-account) Ethereum story, as regards my IRL self, I was born and raised in Venezuela, a country where I experienced firsthand the negative impacts of corruption, centralized governments, and unfulfilled promises of representative democracies. I left my home country in 2007 in search of a new life and better opportunities, like becoming a Telecommunications Engineer in Italy, working for telco operators in Spain, and pursuing an MBA in 2016.

During my MBA’s final degree project I was focusing on creating a sharing economy platform for Personal Development services, I realized that the human connection that promoted my platform didn’t catch the value due to it’s centralized nature (the Uber business model wouldn’t work for it). I needed some kind of technology that could bring and grow value within the personal development network while could also promote the peer-to-peer connections my model was promoting.

That's when I discovered Ethereum, after reading the whitepaper, I was blown away by the potential of creating new decentralized socio-economies and how Ethereum could be a solution for the major economic, political, and social problems I had witnessed. I knew then that I wanted to dedicate my life’s efforts to this technology and work with communities to inspire them to use it for empowering their self and collective sovereignty.

We’d love to hear more about you. What is your personal quest?

Please describe your idea/project/research.

My personal quest is to harness the power of crypto and blockchain technology to create real-world impact, particularly in the areas of land regeneration and fostering personal and community growth. Over time, my spiritual journey and involvement in various spiritual communities have helped me recognize the importance of striking a balance between the digital and physical worlds.

In my professional life, I have encountered frustrations working on currency projects that failed to bring genuine value to people, instead delivering empty promises. This experience has motivated me to find innovative solutions that empower individuals and communities, rather than just focusing on the financial aspects of cryptocurrencies.

In this journey to seek for real-valuable projects I came across to the Traditional Dream Factory (TDF), a project that resonates with my core values and aspirations. TDF emphasizes land regeneration and empowers individuals and communities to heal themselves and the land they live on. By applying my expertise in Ethereum and decentralized technologies, I aim to contribute to TDF's mission and help create a more balanced and really regenerative world.

My personal quest revolves around using Ethereum and decentralized technologies to empower individuals and communities, enabling them to regenerate themselves, the land, and our planet. I believe that by nurturing our connections with ourselves, nature, and humanity, we can inspire the Ethereum community and beyond to work towards a better future.

Please describe your project idea, the problem you are trying to solve, and how Ethereum is/will be used.

In the context of these fellowship program, the project focuses on building and executing a governance roadmap that addresses land management issues and decentralizes the economy of the $TDF token, a utility assed that distribute our homenership by allowing holders to access our co-living during a balance-related amount of days per year per the rest of our life (or till the tokens are sold).

The problem we are trying to solve stems from the current systems of governance within the economics and management of land, which often concentrate power and decision-making in the hands of a few individuals. Although we consider this is useful for executive efficiency and security in the distribution of resources, this centralization can lead to other inefficiencies related to power imbalances, lack of equitable participation, and a lack of transparency in decision-making processes. We posit that the combination of these elements can result in distrust from the markets and harm the inflow of capital into blockchain-based land projects. By focusing on decentralizing the economy around the $TDF token, we can create a more resilient and inclusive system that benefits all stakeholders and aligns with the core values of the project while also empowering our community and individuals to have a greater say in the management and regeneration of their land. By leveraging Ethereum and decentralized technologies, we can create a more transparent, inclusive, and efficient system for our project development and land management that values diverse perspectives and fosters sustainable, inclusive and regenerative practices.

The Traditional Dream Factory (TDF) aims to address the centralization problem commonly encountered in community and land management and the implementation of regenerative economies, where ownership, governance and accountability tends to become an issue for the community engagement needed for regenerating land . TDF focuses on land regeneration and nurturing individuals and communities, by giving sovereignty back to lands (see the Principles of Land Regeneration https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Ocv9rtRkDxsJmeRxrL6mV07EyWcHc2YqfN8mHoylO2E/edit) with the ultimate goal of replicating the TDF model worldwide. However, achieving decentralization in a real-world context like this can be challenging due to various factors, including human nature, technological limitations, and resistance to change.

To tackle this problem, our project will leverage Ethereum and its decentralized capabilities to build and execute a comprehensive governance roadmap. The development of this project will not only address land management issues but also create a decentralized economy built on the $TDF token. We envision the $TDF token as the foundation for various features and utilities, such as new ways of backing real-life value, liquidity solutions, and more.

By harnessing the power of Ethereum technologies, we aim to create a more inclusive, transparent, and efficient system for managing land regeneration projects and the associated economies while generating and nurturing trust from our communities. This will empower people involved in the TDF project, allowing them to take an active role in decision-making and the overall direction of the project. In doing so, we hope to bring real value to the world of crypto and create tangible, positive impact in the realm of land regeneration and community development.

Roadmap and timeline for the project, in addition, or simultaneously to the Fellowship duration

Think about what you want to accomplish in the next 6 months and your plans beyond the duration of the Fellowship.Think about what you want to accomplish in the next 6 months and your plans beyond the duration of the Fellowship.

During the six months of the Fellowship, our primary focus will be on the following:

  1. Establishing a clear governance roadmap for decentralizing the land-based economy of TDF. See https://traditionaldreamfactory.notion.site/Pathway-to-Decentralisation-96d000fb3856499e99d4c341de075050
  2. Developing and implementing a framework for decentralized project and land management.
  3. Expanding the utility and features of the $TDF token to better support the community and its goals.
  4. Designing security policies for allowing the DAO governance to manage the treasury while assuring construction plans can be implemented.

Beyond the Fellowship, we plan to:

  1. Refine and optimize the decentralized governance structure based on learnings and feedback from the community.
  2. Replicate the TDF model in other communities around the world, promoting land regeneration and decentralized land economies.
  3. Continue to engage with the Ethereum ecosystem to share our learnings and foster collaboration around decentralized land economies and regenerative practices.
